As the clock strikes 12:01 a.m. on June 1st, Osage baseball and softball get their first practice in

Gov. Kim Reynolds told schools it could resume baseball and softball operations on June 1st. So at 12:01 a.m. As soon as possible Monday morning, the Osage Green Devil teams had their first practice. Their excitement barred them from waiting until a normal practice hour.

Osage schools Facebook page read:

“The ball season started at 12:01 A.M. on June 1st for our Green Devils. There was so much energy!”

The teams practiced for 30 minutes ‘under the lights’ just getting themselves back on the field.

Superintendent Barb Schwamman believes Iowa summer sports might be one of the most viewed spectacles in the country.

Schwamman says the season will be different with safety concerns.
