Chickasaw County Courthouse reopening information

Floyd County’s Courthouse is eyeing both June 1st and by June 15th as possible reopening dates. According to the New Hampton Tribune, the Chickasaw County Courthouse is waiting until at least June 3rd and will open only to appointments.

At the board meeting, Board Chairman Jacob Hackman said he was not going to consider reopening the building until all the protective glass barriers were put in the offices.

Hackman also proposed if when they reopen the water fountains should be switched off, if masks should be recommended to visitors, and if door knobs should be cleaned regularly.

The board is in no particular rush to reopen the courthouse as residents haven’t been complaining about lack of access to county services.
