Osage and Riceville seniors celebrate final day of high school careers

Both the Green Devil and Wildcat senior students were recently met with their final high school chapter. Superintendent of Riceville and Osage school districts Barb Schwamman helped throw both schools a ‘final day’ bash that included a small in-person graduation. Over in Riceville on May 13th, Schwamman says the event went perfectly.

In Osage, the event was a bit larger and flashier. Last Friday, the seniors were met with a huge reception from the residents of Osage – as they created an estimated 1,000 car long parade for social distanced Green Devils.

That day, the students were able to also participate in a small group graduation ceremony – which involved being able to team up with their closest friends.

The night ended with a 4th of July-esque firework display – courtesy of Flashing Thunder Fireworks.

Schwamman has Osage’s in-person graduation ceremony pegged for June 21st (Father’s Day) – and Riceville is planned tentatively for June 28th.
