Riceville’s ‘Wildcat Activity Center’ to be ready by end of August

Riceville’s multi-million dollar exercise center should be fully erected by the end of August. The Wildcat Activity Center, which will house student gym classes and local workouts alike, is going to be ready for use by the time the 2020-2021 school year is presumed to begin.

Superintendent of Riceville Barb Schwamman says the center’s exterior is basically done.

Schwamman says one of the main reasons this project was started was to give students a place for sports to be played; as to avoid an academic time-suck.

The school system hopes this facility will help them match up better against Iowa’s brutal winters.
