Charles City, Iowa – As we all know, grocery stores are considered an essential business, and most essential businesses are doing their best to create a safe atmosphere for their customers.
Ryan Parker, store director of Hyvee, talks about ways in which they have attempted to generate an easier flow to move about the store so customers can practice social distancing.
Parker said his staff are working very hard to keep the shelves stocked and cleaned. The store is dependent on truck delivery, and what product is brought on the trucks from the warehouse.
He explained that certain products, such as toilet paper are still in such high demand that they do keep some in the back room until the shelves are empty.
Parker said with the spread of COVID-19, more and more customers are utilizing the Aisle’s Online feature, and said that has just exploded in the last couple of weeks.
There are current temporary employment opportunities as the online orders increase along with the delivery of groceries. Parker explains:
Employment applications can be found online at hy-vee.com.
