Rep. Todd Prichard talks $1,200 stimulus checks

The Chuck Town: Charles City, Iowa Facebook page went live on March 30th with Iowa House Minority Leader Todd Prichard to talk the Coronavirus Relief Act and to answer community questions.

Essentially, $2 trillion dollars of relief will be given out to support Americans affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Businesses are being allocated $500 billion, $140 billion will go towards hospitals and Medicaid providers, and a couple other areas. As well as, tons of Americans will be receiving direct deposits starting in April.

Prichard says if you qualify for the $1,200 checks, they will be sent out starting April 6th.

The payments max out at $1,200 for people who make less than $75,000 (or married coupled with $150,000 or less gross income). As the tax brackets get larger, the amount sent to an individual will decrease. Parents will also be receiving $500 for every dependent they have under the age of 17.
