Charles City announces new Watershed Coordinator

Charles City is a-changin’! The broadband project is now at a full speed sprint after buying the City Tap property on 808 North Main Street and the sewer project is soon going to inherit over 6,000 cubic yards of dirt from the College Grounds. With these big shifts, Charles City needs to make sure they are bringing in the right people for these created jobs.

That is why the city is hiring a new Watershed Coordinator – Doug Johnson.

Johnson’s job description will have him driving participation in various water quality projects. Since the sewer plant project is running through the Iowa Finance Authority, the city and Johnson will be receiving many benefits.

The rural grant money will entirely pay for Johnson’s salary for the extent of 5 years.
