Charles City Police Department discontinue use of K-9 Jordy after ‘two incidents’

In a press release, the Charles City Police Department announced they will no longer be using K-9 dog Jordy after a couple of incidents the dog was involved in.

However, Jordy’s career will not be ending as the department will be giving the dog to a master K-9 trainer who will teach Jordy how to be used for narcotics and patrol. With this new training, Jordy should be able to continue his career with a new department.

Lastly, the master trainer will be giving CCPD a discount on a different dog to replace Jordy. This new dog will only know how the narcotic part of the job.

The release wanted to emphasize that these changes shouldn’t reflect poorly on Jordy’s handler or the program itself.
