The timetable is set! During the summer of 2021, 4th Avenue in Charles City will finally be given its much needed re-constructional face-lift. Mayor Dean Andrews says this is a huge project.
The project will be run by the D.O.T and cost $3 million to complete. The state will eat well over $2 million of the price tag and leave the city with only around $600,000 to pay. The city will use its $200,000 transportation grant and make-up the rest by utilizing the local option sales tax which the community indicated should be completely used in street repair and reconstruction.
Andrews says this supplementation will smooth out the road and solve many issue spots that are currently, “accidents waiting to happen.”
