The Charlie Western Trail Bridge is in shambles – but, not for long. The D.O.T. run project is going to soon be receiving bidding for the reconstruction, and once that is done Charles City Mayor Dean Andrews expects it to be reestablished by fall of this year.
The project which is going to cost upwards of $1.2 million, is being bid on in January because Andrews says during this time builders are eagerly looking to fill their summer schedules.
The bridge and the trail leading up to the bridge are most likely going to be accompanied by lighting systems. Andrews says the public questions this portion of the project.
