Charles City city council 12-16 summary

Aside from Phil Knighten and Phoebe Pittman being sworn onto the board, many other noteworthy actions took place during Monday’s council meeting:

The council will not pay premiums for full-time firefighters and police officers any longer; the medical side will be retained and receive no such change.

The city was given $1 million for a sponsored project by a team consisting of the Floyd County Soil and and Water Conservation Districts, to manage the Upper Cedar Watershed.

Finally, the board announced the results of the first meeting of the broadband commission and released that Cheryl Erb, Jeff Marty, and Danny Wilson all resigned from that board of trustees.

Carter bullied his way onto the KCHA radio waves after spending 4 years at the University of Iowa as a studying journalist. He writes news, short stories, features, but more than anything, he has a proclivity to wax philosophically.
