Charles City Community Schools ask for residents to approve Revenue Purpose Statement

Election day for both the Charles City school board and city council is today. But, all Charles City Community Schools residents will also be able to vote for or against a proposed Revenue Purpose Statement as well. The proposal asks residents to approve the SAVE or state one-penny sales tax that will be used as funding for school maintenance and projects. Justin DeVore, communications director for the school system, had some clarifications and disclaimers for the tax.

DeVore says, the state of Iowa has very specific rules for how SAVE money can be used.

In the past, the school system has built STEM labs, welding renovations, restroom upgrades, and more with the SAVE funding.
