Little River Band and Abrosia at Diamond Jo Casino Sunday to raise money for homeless

On the typical Diamond Jo Casino night, you can hear the bells and chimes of gambling from people all trying their luck at slots and table games. But, on Sunday at 7 pm, both the Little River Band and Ambrosia, will be filling the room to raise money for the Northern Light Homeless Shelters.

Genie Kingery, the executive director of the shelters, says Northern Lights is funded by community contributions, local grants, and fundraisers such as the one on Sunday – and these events are vitally important.

Northern Lights also funds a homeless shelter called ‘Courage Hall’ which is one of the only places specifically for homeless veterans in the state. Kingery, explains why we shouldn’t chalk up the abundance of homelessness to laziness.
