CCSD officials asking voters to approve revenue purpose statement for district improvement

Charles City, Iowa – People who live in the Charles City School District will have a choice on November 5th to approve a funding mechanism aimed at improving the district without raising property or sales tax.

Justin DeVore is the district’s communication director.

Voters will be decided whether or not to approve the revenue purpose statement or commonly known as the statewide penny.

DeVore says the measure has been around for nearly a decade and every district has to vote on it.

The district’s used the funds for many projects like safety improvements, asbestos removal, STEM labs, and part of the middle school construction.

DeVore added it gives the school opportunities to improve it’s district.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
