Alliant Energy reviewed rates, will be lower but still high

Des Moines, Iowa – Alliant Energy customers will still be paying higher rates for their electric bills, but it won’t be as much as originally reported.
The company released a statement Thursday saying they’ve filed a partial settlement agreement in its current electric rate review. There will be “modest” rate increase for interim rates in 2020 – smaller than the first request.
Alliant Energy will allow one-time credits to lessen the overall impact to customers in that year. The final bill impact will be decided through the rate review process.
According to a report, billing credits could reach $35 million in 2020, but it did not say on average how much each home would save.
