Charles City – Flying in Iowa in less than a year is going to get just a bit more difficult. On October 1st, 2020, Iowa citizens are going to be required to have a star emboldened on the corner of their driver’s licenses to represent the, ‘REAL-ID’ regulation in order to fly on commercial airlines. Chris Schrodt of North Iowa Air Service says it is mostly due to security measures.
Schrodt also says, like with every change, the regulation will bring some push-back.
Schrodt is still unsure what effect the new regulation will have on business for his airport but is hopeful that it will not cause less flying over the next couple of years.
