Charles City adds new signs in preparation for proposed visitor’s center

Charles City, Iowa –

The wait is finally over – Charles City’s entrances have gotten a facelift.

City Administrator Steve Diers:

The city is sporting two new signs welcoming visitors to town.  They’ve swapped the old brown and green design with a flashy, new blue and gray backdrop of America’s Hometown.

Diers says they’ve come together well.

Two more entrance signs need to be installed near Gilbert Street and Grand Avenue.  Directional signs within the city have been installed and the Iowa Department of Transportation has added signs on state highways for free.

Diers said the signs are part of a total package.

One of the biggest pieces is yet to come and according to Diers, it’s the signs point you towards the future Charles City visitor center.

Diers says in order to have one, the chamber office would have to have the ability to be open 24/7, some way to keep the title.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
