Restaurant owner donates meals to flood volunteers and victims

Earlier this year, the people of Brunswick, Missouri, suffered a lot of flooding – and are still dealing with the aftermath.

Hundreds of people were affected by the flooding and hundreds of others have stepped up to volunteer and help those in need.

Well, Sherry Hamilton — owner of Sherry’s Restaurant, which is in the area — is doing her part by providing free meals to anyone who needs them, both to victims of the flooding and to the volunteers who are helping.

When the floodwaters started affecting the community, Sherry’s first instinct was to “keep cooking.”

So, she and her chef, Marie Davis, have done all they could to prepare over 1,000 free meals for volunteers, first responders and flood victims. They even kept the doors open to help others even when the restaurant was closed.

Sherry and Marie don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Their plan is to continue to feed those in need — and also provide a place where everyone who’s working hard can relax for a bit and enjoy a good laugh.

He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
