Happy 34th birthday to Chris Young!

Chris marvels every time he walks out on stage to the applause of thousands of fans. But he hasn’t forgotten his humble beginnings, playing at a Mexican restaurant in Nashville.

Chris is currently on his Raised on Country tour.

Let’s celebrate Chris’s birthday with his first number-one hit.

Carrie Underwood got to sing with one of her idols, Joan Jett, at CMA Fest.

After spending some time with the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Carrie is even more of a fan.

Carrie and Joan sang some of Joan’s hits, including “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” “Bad Reputation” and “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Yee Yee Apparel, which manufactures T-shirts for Granger Smith, has released a special edition tee honoring the country star’s three-year-old son River, who passed away in a drowning accident at home.

On the website, fans can purchase a red shirt bearing the image of an excavator. The machinery has the word “Riv” printed on it. The description of the garment explains, “This shirt has a Yee Yee excavator on it (Riv’s favorite thing to do was watch excavators scoop up dirt) and is red — Riv’s favorite color.”

The site also explains that 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of the shirt will go to Dell Children’s Medical Center in honor of River Kelly Smith.

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation set a new record by adopting out 61 dogs at CMA Fest last week.

Miranda, her mother Bev, and Dan and Shay’s Dan Smyers and his wife Abby led a mile-long Mutt Strutt to kick off CMA Fest.

Miranda says, “To the uninitiated, it probably sounded like dogs barking. But to me, knowing the pure joy that comes with owning a rescue dog — or eight — it was music to my ears.”

The adoptable dogs — all named for country stars — were provided by the Nashville Humane Association.

Walker Hayes and his wife Laney launched their YouTube series Hayes of Our Lives yesterday.

The series is a deep dive into their life with their six kids and their relationship, including how they met and how he proposed.

Walker’s new single, “Don’t Let Her,” came to him when he was on tour in Europe for two weeks. He was missing Laney, so he began texting her all the things he loves about her.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
