Darius Rucker raised more than $425,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital earlier this week at the Darius and Friends benefit concert and golf tournament.

Darius committed to raising money for the hospital after his first visit to the campus in Memphis a decade ago. He says, “I was struck by how St. Jude not only cares for their patients but also their patients’ families. They believe that a financial burden is the last thing a family should face when their focus needs to be on helping a kid get better, and St. Jude makes sure that their patients never pay a dime.”

Monday night’s show featured Jimmie Allen, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Sheryl Crow, Travis Denning, Brett Young and special guest, Charles Kelley.

The concert and golf tournament have raised more than $2 million dollars for the hospital over the last ten years.

Little Big Town have had their share of fun party tracks like “Pontoon,” but when songs like “The Daughters” come along, Karen Fairchild says that strikes a tender chord.

The band performed the song earlier this week during the CMT Music Awards.

Granger Smith’s three-year-old son River has died in an accident.

More information regarding the nature of the accident has not been released. River just celebrated his third birthday on May 16th.

Granger has a daughter seven-year-old London and another son, five-year-old Lincoln.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dell Children’s Hospital.

Kane Brown knows that many of his fans are young people who see him as a role model. That’s why you’ll never find a warning label on his music.

Kane is going to be a dad soon. He and his wife Katelyn are expecting a baby girl.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
