“Love Wins.” At least it did for Carrie Underwood at last night’s CMT Awards at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. She was the night’s only multiple award winner as her clip for that song took home Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year.

The other big winners of the night included Kane Brown’s “Lose It,” which was named Male Video of the Year; Zac Brown Band’s “Someone I Used to Know,” which earned the Group Video nod and Dan and Shay’s “Speechless,” was was named Duo Video of the Year.

As is the case at most awards shows these days, performances far outnumbered the awards, with 22 performances during the two-and-a-half hour show, while only eight awards were presented.

Hosts Little Big Town declared the event the official kick-off party of the summer and promised the show would be “bigger and better than ever.” Indeed it was.

They’re just a couple of months away from welcoming their second child, a boy, to the family, but Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley recently shared the name of their son with People magazine — Luca Reed.

Tyler explains, “Luca is a name we loved and it means ‘bringer of light.’ It also reminds us of Italy, which is one of our happy places.” Hayley adds that Luca’s middle name is also Tyler’s middle name. “We wanted Luca to have a little piece of Tyler in his name.”

Hayley also revealed that this isn’t the name that they had chosen for their first son, referring to the 2017 mix-up when they were told they were having a boy at first, but then learned it was actually a baby girl.

Luca will make his debut, joining big sister Olivia, in August.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
