Charles City, Iowa – Charles City is one of 18 communities who’s saving a total of $6.2 million dollars through previous water quality projects.
The Iowa Finance Authority is reporting Charles City’s cut is $511,137.50.
According to City Administrator Steve Diers, the money is coming from a loan that helped upgrade the drinking water plant.
The state adjusted the interest rates which Diers says more savings means more money.
The state revolving fund is one of Iowa’s primary sources for financing projects designed to improve Iowa’s water quality.
