It’s history for the New Hampton Girls Golf team and not just because they won the school’s first golf title, but because they won by 59 strokes!
Head Coach Eric Olson has been at his post for nine years and then had back-to-back runner up finishes before grabbing gold.
He said the team battled through soggy conditions during the whole tournament.
As a team the Chickasaws shot 662 which is a state record low for 36 holes and held on to their 23-stroke day-one lead.
New Hampton comes away with three top ten finishers as a team which included Allison Nuss the 2A state runner up.
A reception was held Wednesday night for the girls and the boys golf team who finished sixth at the state golf meet last week.

The Rockford Warriors softball team smashed Eagle Grove 14-4 to improve to 4-0 on the season . Jamie Schuster gave up seven hits and three earned runs. Three Warrior’s registered a pair of RBIs.
The Osage Softball team dropped a 5-4 decision to Northwood-Kensett last night. The Green Devils are 2-3.
Clarksville got a 12-0 win over Triploli to improve to 4-0 last night.
North Fayette Valley edged Turkey Valley 12-9. The Trojans drop to 0-3. North Fayette remains unbeaten.
South Winneshiek dropped both games to Kee High last night 9-4 and 7-2. The loss evens the Warrior’s record at 2-2.
The Charles City Comets exploded for a 12-3 win over Turkey Valley. The Comets pick up their fourth straight win while the Trojans are winless. Jace Cajthaml and Tait Arndt collected four RBIs.
Rockford picked up their third straight win after beating Eagle Grove 10-0 in five innings. The Warriors are 3-1.
The Osage Green Devils thumped Northwood-Kensett 11-1. The Green Devils posted 10 runs in the fourth to improve to 3-1.
Clarksville picked up a 10-5 win over Tripoli to get their first win of the season.
South Winneshiek is 5-2 after thumping Crestwood 13-5 to improve to 5-2.
Decorah shutout North Fayette Valley 11-0 last night. The Tiger Hawks are 3-3.
