Charles City, Iowa – There’s been no break from Mother Nature in recent weeks and it continued to deal Northeast Iowans fits last night.
A slew of tornado sightings happened across the state Wednesday afternoon and into the evening. The closest one crept into Franklin and Cero Gordo Counties. The tornado-warned storms lost their intensity and were downgraded to severe thunderstorm warnings.
Those storms brought winds, heavy rain, some hail and flash flooding.
The National Weather Service reports there could have been 17 or more funnel clouds and tornadoes yesterday.
