Country Music News for May 14, 2019

Congratulations go out to Chris and Morgane Stapleton.

It appears that the newest addition to Chris Stapleton’s family has made their debut.

In a post on wife Morgane’s Instagram page, she shares the news that their fifth child arrived, apparently on Mother’s Day. She doesn’t share any specifics or details regarding the baby’s name or gender, but she and Chris have been very honest about keeping their children out of the spotlight until they are old enough to choose for themselves.

Happy birthday to Dustin Lynch, who turns 34 today.

Dustin, who grew up in the small town of Tullahoma, Tennessee, checked an item off of his bucket list when he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry last October.

His country star crush, Reba McEntire, did the honors of inducting him into the circle.

Shania Twain has landed a role in I Still Believe, a movie about the life of Christian music singer Jeremy Camp.

Shania will play his mother, Terry Camp. The film also stars K.J. Apa, who plays Archie Andrews in the CW series Riverdale, and Gary Sinise.

The film is slated to open next March.

Carrie Underwood returns to American Idol for the season finale on Sunday.

Also joining the lineup are Kane Brown, Jon Pardi and Dan and Shay. Luke Bryan will perform his new single, “Knockin’ Boots.” He’ll also sing with former contestant Laci Kaye Booth

The finale airs at 7 p.m. on ABC.

The new dates are December 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, 13th and 14th.
