Charles City native Rita Hart announces campaign for Congress
Hart says she wants to be Iowa's voice in second congressional district

Wheatland, Iowa – A former Charles City resident and educator announced she’s running for Iowa’s Second Congressional District.
Democrat Rita Hart said in a statement Tuesday morning she pledges to be a voice for Iowans in Washington and bring common-sense values to Congress.
Her and her hsuband, Paul, have owned and operated a farm near Wheatland since 1986.
Hart served in the Iowa Senate from 2012-2016. In 2018, she was the Democratic nominee for Iowa’s Lieutenant Governor.
