Country Music News for May 3, 2019

Lady Antebellum pick up their Las Vegas residency on May 10th at the Palms Casino Resort’s Pearl Concert Theater.

The dates for the shows this month are May 11th, 15th, 17th and 18th.

Little Big Town will host the CMT Music Awards on June 5th at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. This will be the band’s second year hosting.

The nominees for the awards will be announced on Tuesday by Carly Pearce during the Today show with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. Carly will also perform her new single, “Closer to You.”

Performers and presenters will be announced soon.

Luke Combs picked up three Billboard Music Awards at Wednesday night’s ceremony. He won Top Country Artist and Top Country Male Artist, and This One’s for You took Top Country Album.

Carrie Underwood, who opened her Cry Pretty 360 tour last night, won Top Country Female Artist. Dan and Shay continue their hot streak by winning in the Top Country Duo/Group category and Kenny Chesney won Top Country Tour.

Kane Brown and his pregnant wife Katelyn revealed Wednesday night at the Billboard Music Awards that they are expecting a baby girl.

The expectant parents walked the red carpet and made the gender reveal. Kane said “We’re having a baby girl” and added, “I’m prepared. I’m not going to let the baby go. I’m going to hold on to [her] the whole time. I might be carrying the baby down the carpet with me next!”
