Country Music News for May 2, 2019

An updated and expanded Glen Campbell box set arrives next month.

Due June 21st, Glen Campbell: The Legacy packs 78 recordings from his remarkable 57-year career.

Along with his classics “Gentle on My Mind,” “Galveston,” “Wichita Lineman,” “Rhinestone Cowboy” and “Southern Nights,” Campbell fans will find early rarities such as his 1961 single “Turn Around, Look at Me” — done a half-dozen years before The Vogues turned it into a Top 10 hit — and “Guess I’m Dumb,” written and produced by his friend Brian Wilson, with whose Beach Boys he often recorded. There are also duets with Rita Coolidge, Anne Murray, Bobbie Gentry and Steve Wariner.

Newly added are several tracks from Glen’s final years, such as his acclaimed “Ghost on the Canvas,” “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” and “Adios,” his final studio recording, made with many of his fellow Wrecking Crew session players.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
