Des Moines, Iowa – A bill, in memory of a Charles City teen allowing you to signify organ donation on your hunting and fishing licenses has cleared one of the final hurdles in the Iowa Legislature Tuesday afternoon.

Logan’s Law, who is named after 15-year-old Logan Luft who died in an ATV accident, passed the House unanimously 98-0.

Representative Scott Ourth, a Democrat from Ackworth, says the bill helps expand organ donation in Iowa.

Representative Todd Prichard spoke to the house saying Logan’s Law allows for more education and opportunity.

Logan’s mom, Wendy, told North Iowa News passage in the house is a sigh of relief.

Lenny, Logan’s dad, says despite organizations trying to play politics with the bill, they learned to not take anything personally.

The amended version must go to the Senate and be approved before going to the governor’s desk.
