Charles City, Iowa – A new signal traffic control box will be installed at Charles City’s main intersection.
City Administrator Steve Diers says issues with the technology have become a growing concern.
The council budgeted $15,000 for one at the 4th Avenue and North Grand intersection, but with future construction at the location, the city is applying those funds at Main and Gilbert Streets.
The council approved a new fiber-ready, control box costing $17,835.
A $15,000 possible upgrade helps detect traffic flow with cameras.
