Ag, industrial technology building allows for more opportunities, innovation

New Hampton, Iowa – Construction continues on the $1 million dollar ag and industrial technology building at the New Hampton High School.

Despite the long winter, ag instructor Jim Russ calls the developments exciting.

Original designs of the project detailed a smaller space, but Russ says the size wasn’t economical for students.

The FFA reached out to business industry and their Alumni and added $300,000.

The added space allows for students to have hands on experiences in processes some of the industries use or colleges will teach.

Russ says the added space and sand blasters are just some examples of what’s being included.

When the space is operational, students will be able to create pieces for their resumes.

Russ added the project should be completed in the fall.
