Citizen activism helps CCPD make drug bust

Charles City, Iowa – A citizen tip led to a drug bust for the Charles City Police Department Wednesday afternoon.

Police Chief Hugh Anderson tells North Iowa News the motto ‘if you see something say something’ is working among residents.

Officers executed a narcotics-related search warrant in the 500 block of South Main Street.  Drug-related items were taken from the residence according to Anderson.

Police took the dog to a local vet for treatment.

Charges are pending for the narcotics and animal neglect.

He adds these investigations can take longer but citizen tips are helpful.

The case remains under investigation.
