Icy roads cause Osage school bus to crash, one child injured

Osgae, Iowa – One minor was injured Wednesday morning when an Osage school bus skidded off the road due to wet and icy road conditions.

Driving westbound on 316th street near Jersey Ave., the bus driver, 58-year-old John Morische of Rudd, crested a small hill and struck a utility pole causing the power lines to land on the school bus, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Students were transported to Osage Community School once the power company verified power was off.

A 10 –year-old male student was injured and taken to Mitchell County Regional Health Center.
