
New Hampton, Iowa – Chickasaw County is continuing to search for an ambulance service for its residents.
The council is close to sending out request for proposals.
The supervisors are concerned about footing a legal fee for the use of the council’s attorney after the county attorney backed out due to a conflict of interest.
EMA Coordinator Jeff Bernatz says the council needs a legal service.
The council, which is made up of town representatives and others, are tagged with paying a share of the legal fees.
Supervisor Jacob Hackman has concerns with how much the county’s portion should be.
The supervisors tabled the topic until more information becomes available.
