Cardiac health important all-year round as heart moth nears end

Charles City, Iowa – With today marking February’s last day, that means the end of heart month.

Coordinator for outpatient cardiac rehab for Mayo and FCMC Valerie Pickar says you should thinking about your heart every month.

It starts with cardiac rehab, a medically supervised exercise program.

Patients who complete cardiac rehab will lower their risk for another cardiac episode.

Pickar adds it will improve your overall lifestyle.

Cardiac rehab is for men and women of all ages who’ve had stent replacements, angioplasty, bypass or valve surgery and other heart related conditions.
