UPDATED: Fredricksburg man found safe

Fredericksburg, Iowa –

According to the New Hampton Police Department’s Facebook page, James Boyd has been found and is safe.  The department thanks the public for spreading the word to help locate him.

Authorities are asking for your help locating a Fredericksburg man that went missing Monday afternoon.

Chickasaw County Sheriff Marty Hemann tells North Iowa News 85-year-old James Louis Boyd was last seen at the Waverly Walmart.  He was driving a 1500 Dodge Ram truck with Iowa license plates GV 327.

Boyd is a 5’8’’ 225 pound white male with grey hair, a mustache and has a stocky build.  He was last seen wearing bib overalls, a blue jacket, a dark covered pull over sweater and a ball cap.

According to the department’s Facebook page it says, “James Boyd may be confused or disoriented and the family says there are dementia concerns.  Mr. Boyd had a prior episode where he got confused and lost and was later located near the twin cities.”
