Sheriff’s office uncovers heroin, handgun during traffic stop

Charles City, Iowa – A routine traffic stop on New Year’s Eve turned up a softball sized-amount of heroin near Charles City.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s says they uncovered the illegal drugs and a .45 caliber handgun when they stopped 50-year-old Keith Tucker of Detroit for speeding.

Tucker is charged with possession to intent to deliver heroin and possession of contraband in a correctional facility were more narcotics were discovered.

The sheriff’s office says he’s has been indicted in Cedar Rapids Federal court for conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and other firearm and drug charges.

Tucker was westbound on Highway 218 when he was driving 82 mph in a 65 mph zone.
