Stacyville and Greene selected for statewide water improvement grants

Des Moines, Iowa –  The Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources announced Wednesday afternoon two Northeast Iowa communities have received low-interest water quality loans.

Greene received $3.4 million and Stacyville’s loan is worth $164,700; part of $64 million given to 17 Iowa communities.

The loans are a low-cost construction option available for Iowa cities and water quality initiatives.  Iowa communities and municipalities have received a total of nearly $3.3 billion in construction loans and more than $240 million in planning and designing since the program’s inception.

Greene’s funds are designated to fix their sewer and Stacyville’s loan will be used for planning and designing.
