Processional route announced for Nashua-Plainfield senior, heavy traffic expected

Nashua, Iowa – A funeral processional route has been announced for a Nashua-Plainfield senior who died Sunday.

18-year-old Caleb Ulrich lost his battle with leukemia.

His funeral will be held Thursday morning at the high school at 10:30.  Nashua Police Chief Ben Scholl says there will be an 11-mile processional following the celebration of life.

Scholl tells North Iowa News they’re expecting heavy traffic and recommends motorists take extra time getting to their destination.

He says he doesn’t want any distractions taking away from the community support.

Caleb was Nashua-Plainfield’s first male cheerleader and Scholl provided the first police escort to the state cheerleading meet.

Caleb touched many lives including Scholl’s  8-year-old daughter.

Nashua-Plainfield has cancelled Thursday classes.

Parking for the funeral is available at the football field, high school, elementary school and the Husky Wellness Center.
