Chickasaw wrestlers post 2-1 mark in quad, weekend sports lineup

Wrestling;

The New Hampton/Turkey Valley wrestling team went 2-1 in their quad.  The Chickasaws notched wins over Jesup and AGWSR but lost to Denver.

The Charles City Comets grappled some top ten opponents in Crestwood and Decorah.  The Coments went 0-2, falling to the Vikings 45-31 and 39-25 to the Cadets.  They’re at Hudson tomorrow.

Girls basketball scores:

Sumner-Fredricksburg topped South Winneshiek 66-48 last night.  Cassidy Pagel scored a game-high 24 and Ivy Hirsch added 15.  The Cougars are 9-4 and the Warriors are losers of three-straight and 5-7.

Turkey Valley picked up their third –straight win edging Tripoli 55-52.  Katly Baumler paced the Trojans with 17.  Turkey Valley is 7-6.

Boys basketball scores:

Sumner-Fredricksburg evened their record to 6-6 after dropping South Winneshiek 69-66.  Jacob Herold had 16 for the Warriors who fall to 8-4.

North Fayette Valley lost to Oelwein 55-47.  After eight straight wins, the Tiger Hawks have lost three straight.

New Hampton girls are at Waukon with 951. The Bull radio starting at 7:30, the New Hampton boys host Waukon

Charles City boys host Decorah, the Comet girls are at Decorah with KChA radio starting at 7:15.
