Healthy lifestyles top New Year’s resolutions, many are halted by February

Charles City, Iowa – The New Year’s holiday is in the rear view mirror and maybe your New Year’s Resolution is too.

Business Insider says 80 percent of resolutions fail by the time the calendar turns to February.

Certified personal trainer and Snap Fitness owner Marlowe Jung says people get defeated too quickly.

A survey of 2,000 people revealed exercise or improving your health is the top  choice.  Seventy-one percent want to diet or eat healthier, 65 percent want to improve their exercise and 54 percent have a desire to lose weight.

Jung says while you should find someone to help keep each other accountable, you still need to focus on your personal goals.

She says gym memberships typically spike around the new year, but taking any step to become healthier is positive.
