Stolen Laptop Lands Three Behind Bars; Stolen Firearms Also Recovered

Charles City, Iowa – An investigation into a stolen laptop has landed three people behind bars and uncovered stolen firearms and narcotics.

Charles City Police Chief Hugh Anderson says the investigation began on Wednesday.

The search warrant at an apartment in the 600 block of Milwaukee Street at 2:25pm Thursday afternoon resulted in the recovery of the laptop along with stolen firearms and narcotics-related items.

At around 3:15pm, Deputies with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Highway 18 in which 22-year-old Troy L. Bijani of Mason City was arrested on three warrants in Floyd County. Through the investigation, he was also charged with 2nd degree burglary and 1st degree theft. A passenger, 24-year-old Xavier T Frank of Charles City was also arrested on charges of 2nd degree burglary and 1st degree theft with other charges pending.

Officers later obtained a second search warrant for that same apartment at 4:08pm.

Another traffic stop was conducted at 4:54pm in which 27-year-old Robert Luckett III of Mason City was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. It was also noted that several more stolen firearms along with narcotics were recovered.

At 7:33pm, yet another search warrant was executed by Floyd County deputies at a residence in the 200 block of 4th Avenue where narcotics related items and information into stolen firearms were seized.
