Iowa and Iowa State Battle Road Tests Saturday

#16 Iowa at Purde, 2:30pm kickoff

Iowa is in bounce back mode as the Hawkeyes get set to visit Purdue. The Hawks had their three game winning streak snapped with a 30-24 loss at Penn State and need a win to keep their hopes alive in the west division.

That’s safety Jake Gervase. Senior guard Dalton Ferguson says they are not concerned about the big picture.

The Iowa offense struggled with Penn State’s pressure last week and quarterback Nate Stanley says Purdue will provide a similar challenge.

#24 Iowa State at Kansas

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell believes this year’s team has what it takes for the stretch run. After starting 6-2 a year ago the Cyclones dropped three of four games in November. ISU has won three straight and takes a 4-3 record this week to Kansas.

The Cyclones are in the thick of the Big-12 title chase as they begin the final month.

Campbell felt last year’s team ran out gas but the added depth on this year’s team should prevent that.

With Zeb Noland gone freshman Re-al Mitchell becomes the third team quarterback. Kyle Kempt could play if needed.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
