New Hampton Returns To State In Nearly Half Of A Century, Osage Fights Off Early Miscues And Rolls To A Third-Straight Trip

New Hampton 3, Camanche 0

45 years is a long time, but when the time comes, it’s as sweet as ever. Here’s Neil Stone capturing the moment.

The Chickasaws dispatched Camanche in straight sets last night, winning the third 25-23.  Rachel Rinken led New Hampton with 10 kills. Kerigan and Kiersten Tenge each added eight.  The Chickasaws will face second seeded Tipton next Wednesday at 10am. That game can be heard on Today’s Country 95.1 The Bull.

Osage 3, Humboldt 0

The Osage Green Devils continued their theme this year: #AllAboard.

#6 Osage took down #12 Humboldt in straight sets last night to capture the 3A Region 3 crown.  This is head coach Andie Olson.

Sophomore outside hitter Dani Johnson led the Green Devil offensive onslaught with 17 kills.  Sydney Midlang added 15 in the match. Osage fell behind by five points in set number one and trailed 19-17 in set number two but ended those matches on runs to finish off Humboldt 25-21 and 25-20.  Oslon says her team is young but inexperience didn’t phase them last night.

Fifth seeded Osage will face fourth seeded Davenport Assumption next Wednesday in Cedar Rapids at 10 am. We’ll start our pregame show at 9:45.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
