New Hampton at Clear Lake
The New Hampton Chickasaws head to Clear Lake tonight. Clear Lake is 5-2, coming off of a 36-0 win over Forest City. The 2-5 Chickasaws lost a double overtime game to Crestwood last week. The pregame show starts at 7 and kickoff is at 7:30.
Nashua-Plainfield at Starmont
The Nashua-Plainfield Huskies look for their first win tonight. Sitting at 0-7, coming off their closest game of the season – a 20-0 loss to Central Springs, Nashua-Plainfield faces a winless Starmont team. They have forfeited the last two games they’ve played.
Sumner-Fredricksburg at Aplington-Parkersburg
After a three-point Thursday night edging of Denver last week, Sumner-Fredricksburg takes their 6-1 record to Aplington-Parkersburg tonight. AP is 3-4 and lost to Lake Mills 31-14 – team Sumner-Fred upended 32-7 during the first week of district play. A win would give the Cougars sole possession of second place.
Turkey Valley at Easton Valley
The 6-1 Turkey Valley Trojans travel to Easton Valley tonight. Easton Valley is 4-3 and blanked Kee High 34-0 last week. The Trojans are coming off of a 52-6 thumping of West Central last week.
South Winneshiek at Central Springs
South Winneshiek heads to Central Springs after the Warriors fell 40-39 to Saint Ansgar last week. South Winn is 4-3 on the year and looks for the fifth win of the season against 5-2 Central Springs.
North Fayette Valley vs Waterloo Columbus Catholic
3-4 North Fayette Valley hosts Waterloo Columbus Catholic tonight. The Tiger-Hawks dropped Oelwein last week 24-6 and 5-2 Columbus Catholic fell to Waukon 38-12.
Area Volleyball
South Winneshiek dropped a four-set match to West Central last night. The Warriors stole the third set 25-18 after dropping set one 25-23 and then set two 25-20. South Winneshiek finishes the regular season 11-18 and begins postseason play next Tuesday.
North Fayette Valley finishes the regular season 7-17 after a straight set sweep loss to Clayton Ridge last week.
