Mororcycles, Junk And The Chicken Dance Highlight Events In New Hampton

New Hampton, Iowa – A busy weekend is in store for New Hampton residents this weekend.

It is the 2nd annual New Hampton Motorcycle Rally hosted by the New Hampton Boy Scouts.  Motorcycles started rolling in on Tuesday to Mikkelson Park on New Hampton’s east side and riders will be setting up camp to make their temporary home here through the weekend.

Another big event is the “For The Love Of Junk on Route 24” happening this Friday and Saturday from noon till 7 pm on Friday and 9 am to 3 pm Saturday.  Jason Speltz, New Horizons Chamber Director says it’s a junk market.


Speltz says there’s something for everyone.


In addition to the Friday and Saturday events, Speltz added that there will be another “Classic Car Night Thursday evening on Main Street showcasing classic cars, motorcycles, trucks, and the Chickasaw County Rescue Squad will have their truck plus other emergency vehicles on display to celebrate the Rescue Squads 40th birthday.
