The Score Sheet: High School Kick Off Times Changed, Volleyball Previews


The New Hampton Chickasaws hit the road tonight searching for their first win of the season.  Their taking on their rival the Charles City Comets. The game has been moved back an hour. Nashua Plainfield is searching for their first win of the season.  They’re looking to rebound after getting shut out to North Butler in week 1 20-0.  The Huskies host offensive powerhouse Belmond-Klemme who racked up 61 points in their week-one win over Eagle Grove.

The 1-0 Tukey Valley Trojans look to remain unbeaten tonight in Gladbrook.  Gladbrook Reinbeck lost 50-6 in their opener and look for their first win. It’s Turkey Valley and Gladbrook-Reinbeck.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars aim for 2-0 tonight hosting South Winneshiek.  South Winn comes into tonight’s game 1-0 after a 30-10 win over MFL-Mar-Mac last week.  The Cougars blew out Postville on last week.

North Fayette Valley searches for their first win trying to rebound from a 35-21 setback to Waverly-Shell Rock.  The Tiger-Hawks host Union LaPorte City tonight.


The Nashua Plainfield volleyball team  is now 0-4. They dropped a four-set match to Mason City Newman last night.  The Huskies travel to Central Springs on Tuesday.

North Fayette Valley begins their volleyball campaign 0-1. West Central swept the Tiger-Hawks.  North Fayette Valley travels to North Tama High School Saturday for a five team tournament.

The New Hampton Chickasaws, Sumner Fredericksburg and South Winneshiek are all preparing for a big day of volleyball tomorrow participating in the Chickasaw’s home tournament.


College Football kicked off last night.  #21 UCF blasted UCONN last night 56-14.
