The Score Sheet: Volleyball In Full Swing For Area Teams

The New Hampton Chickasaws are 2-0 on the young 2018 season.  With a pair of sweeps over Nashua-Plainfield and Mason City, the Chickasaws prepare themselves for dates with Kee High and Turkey Valley tonight.  Rachel Rinken is the leading hitter out the gates collecting 10 kills in the win over Mason City.

The first Chickasaw broadcast with Neil Stone is next Tuesday as New Hampton hosts the Charles City Comets.  Pregame is at 7 and first serve at 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield Huskies have stumbled out of the gates to begin their 2018 season. The New Hampton Chickasaws swept the Huskies last Tuesday and the Rockford Warriors also swept the Huskies on Thursday.  Freshman Makenzie Foelske led the Huskies with five kills against the Warriors. They hit -0.014.

Nashua-Plainfield travels to Northwood-Kensett tonight.

The Turkey Valley Trojans open the 2018 campaign tonight hosting New Hampton and Kee High. 

They’ll have another match-up hosting Kee high next Thursday.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars have used two sweeps to start 2018 2-0 beating Crestwood and Tripoli 3-0.  Jordan Burrows and Miarah Nuss the leading hitters out of the gates for the Cougars with five and four kills.

Sumner-Fred travels to New Hampton for a tournament on Saturday with Devener, South Winneshiek, and New Hampton.

South Winneshiek is 1-1 to start the season.  Last Thursday at their triangular, they fell to Hudson two sets to none but rebounded with a three set thriller over Dunkerton 25-17, 25-23 and 15-11.  They’re on the road tonight at Crestwood.

The North Fayette Valley Tiger-Hawks are still waiting for their season to start.  They’ll wait until Tuesday until facing West Central at home.
