951 The Bull Sports Report (6/29)

The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team was in Manly last night for a non-conference game against Central Springs.  Connor Hackman and Keegan Kane combined to pitch a shut-out and lead New Hampton to a 9-0 win.  Noah Fenske had two hits and an RBI to lead the Chickasaw offense and Brayden Fisher had two runs batted in.  The New Hampton baseball team improves their record to 23-4 overall this season and they will be in action next on Tuesday when they head to Charles City for a Northeast Iowa Conference double-header.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball team hosted Union-LaPorte City last night in an Upper Iowa Conference double-header.  In game one, the Cougars walked away with a 10-3 victory.  Game two went to Union by a final score of 12-10.  With the split, the Sumner-Fred softball team is now 18-13 overall this season and they finish the NICL season with a record of 10-7.  They will have their final regular season game tonight at MFL-Mar-Mac.

Other games on the schedule tonight for our local summer sports teams include the New Hampton Chickasaw softball team who will be in Don Bosco for a two-day tournament that begins today.  The Chickasaws enter the tournament with an overall record of 21-11.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky softball team will host Lake Mills tonight in Top of Iowa Conference play.  Nashua softball is 8-14 overall and 5-10 in the conference while Lake Mills is 2-19 and 2-18.  First pitch of the Varsity game is scheduled for 6pm.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky baseball team will also be at home tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference game against Lake Mills.  The Nashua baseball team comes in with an overall record of 8-13 and their conference record is 6-9 while Lake Mills baseball is 13-6 and 12-5.  First pitch for this game is also scheduled for 6pm.

The Turkey Valley Trojan baseball team will be at home tonight for an Upper Iowa Conference double-header against North Fayette Valley.  The Turkey Valley baseball team is 9-15 overall this season and they have a 6-7 mark in the UIC while the Tiger-Hawks are 8-13 and they are also 6-7 in the conference.  First pitch of the first game is scheduled for 4pm.

The Turkey Valley Trojan softball team will be in non-conference action at home tonight as they welcome in Riceville.  The Trojan softball team is 12-20 overall this season and Riceville comes in at 9-15.  The Varsity game is set to begin at about 7pm.
