Woman Sentenced After Stealing Money From Local Bank

Charles City, Iowa – A former bank employee is on probation after stealing money.  A judge sentenced 34-year-old Cassandra Marie Lane to up to 10 years in prison and a $1,000 fine for stealing $13,000  from another person’s bank account at First Security Bank and Trust in Charles City.

Lane appeared in Floyd County District Court Monday, where Judge James Drew placed Lane on five years probation and ordered her to pay a total of 17 thousand dollars back, some of which were from another incident.  Lane stole $3,988 from the bank’s internal accounts, but that prison sentence, fine and surcharge were also suspended.
